Thanks so much for commenting and ...Aloha Helena,

Thanks so much for commenting and reading!! :-) I appreciate it. Thanks on the adventures. I'm a big fan of them. :-) I hate being grounded at the moment. Drives me nuts. Mt Rushmore IS very commercialized now.. but... it's still pretty impressive to see. And hard to really comprehend until you see it in person. Quite the deal.

Yes, this was my concern about Stonehenge too. I've never been. I have a stone circle in Ireland I work with that is still activated. I don't know if Stonehenge still is. They tell me that Avebury is a better circle ~ energy wise. My circle in Ireland is still activated and used by a few people. As soon as you step into it, you get a buzzing feeling, like a mild electrical currently. I love it. I used to go and plug into it every couple of years.

I need to manifest money again, so I can do that. I miss it. Even Aaron had a great experience when we went out there.

Thanks for reading!! Glad you enjoyed it. I just found it a bit of a shock after the first time I saw it and it was so lovely to stand quietly at the bottom and gaze up. This was a bit of a rude shock. I remember though thinking how impressive it was. I was unprepared to like something that had 'hacked up a natural piece of rock.' But was quite taken with it. Crazy Horse was a happier experience this time.

What was Stonehenge like? I've never been. I love stone circles and have an activated one in Ireland I work with. I've always wondered if Stonehenge is still activated. Yes, very cool to go to on the Summer Solstice. I'd like to go to Avebury too, I think it is. I've never been up to my stones at that time of the year. But it's an activated circle, so it would be interesting.

I know.. the bears.. :-) I LOVED them. I'd never seen the golden bears before. They were so lovely. Quite gorgeous.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I've always wanted to visit, ever since seeing North by Northwest - but maybe the reality won't live up to expectations not it's commercialised? It's the same way with Stonehenge. I remember being massively disappointed on seeing it a few years ago. A major road runs just nearby, and a great fence encircles it so you can't go in. Actually, it's now a bit of a dump. Tragedy. Loved your post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2399009317376776931.post-22013888601351851832014-06-12T06:26:42.907-07:002014-06-12T06:26:42.907-07:00Aloha, Meg! We never got to Crazy Horse so I was happy to see that here.

We've been to Stonehenge a few times and from a distance Carhenge looks really close to it. I only have to hear the theme music and years spring into my eyes. Weren't they wonderful. Maybe John boy Walton was one of our inspirations in out young lives. I loved hearing the voice narration I his family. :-). And loved that he was a writer.

I realized too after reading this that Henry my Southern Gentlemen Creole has a lot of John Walton's energy on board - the father. Very kind and caring. That gentle nature. I adored that. I loved the mother too. I wanted that family too. :-).

We have a few things in common. :-). You seem to have hit everything I would have stopped at myself had I been travelling with you!

I loved the miniature villages at Roadside America and the dinosaurs at Dinosaur Land. But what really tickled my heart was the stuff on the Walton's.

Confession: I am a Waltons-aholic! My girlfriend and I own all nine seasons of the show and we watch them continuously. Once we finish the ninth season, we start over again on the first. Of course we watch other things, but it is undoubtedly my favorite show of all time. I think part of my love of the Waltons comes from my own wish that I could've had such a family, but it also comes from the excellent writing of Earl Hamner, Jr.

Thanks so much, Meg, for the fabulous post :-)

Aloha! Thanks so much for reading and comm...Aloha Susan.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Glad you liked it. :-)

I'm like you, I've always been interested in the Amish. This was interesting to go here. I found the Ohio community of Amish slightly more interesting in a way. Lancaster seemed slightly more 'commercial.' I think just because it was bigger. Right at the very start of the RV trip, we were in the Ohio community of Amish, which is bigger than the Pennsylvania one apparently. Aaron went into a bank there and every single person was Amish. They all turned around and simply stared at him. He said he felt really peculiar. Outside, the bank there were horse and buggy parking spaces. We went to Kinrod auction and that was fascinating. Amish and English side by side. The contrasts were fantastic. I know some German Baptists too, but have never met a Hudderite. They all fascinate me.

No, the town didn't smell of chocolate. :-) It may have been on a day they weren't processing something very pongy. :-)

Oh you too, on going to see places on TV or in books. :-) I love this stuff. LOL. I like to try thinks form books. I drink Stengahs sometimes. Mentioned in Noel Barbers book Tanamera, set in Singapore. I love them. LOL. Very weak scotch, no ice, filled to the brim of a tall glass with club soda. Refreshing!

Thanks for reading about our travels!! I'ts lovely to share it and have people read it. Aaron would have loved that. :-)

I don't have a lot of photos of the inside, but I'll send what I can of Lee and Wendys place. Quite lovely. It tickled me that you could buy a DIY home. I suppose they're no different to a kitset anything, but still... quite interesting. :-)

Have a terrific trip to Russia, Germany and Sweden. Nearly at the end of my night. :-)

I'm glad you loved the Met! It may have just been the exhibitions they had at the time I went. They do change all the time. The first time I went to the Met, I absolutely loved it. It was the first place I'd seen a 'live' Monet and I nearly wept. It was so wonderful. Love that we saw the same paintings there. ;-) I also love the impressionists. I went to Monets garden in France. Ohhh.. so fabulous. I just loved it. I had an artist paint me my favorite Monet. It hangs in my dining room. :-) One of the waterlily scenes. I love it. :-) I also love Van Gogh and wish I'd got him to do one for me. I love the heavy texture that Van Gogh used in his later work. Gorgeous.

Me too on Harry Potter. I thought I wouldn't like it because I'm not a sci-fi or fantasy fan, but I was absolutely enthralled with it. :-)

LOL.. you're right. I have to see everything on a trip. I come home exhausted but it's just the way I like to travel. LOL on your husbands comment. LOL. Gorgeous. I can't wait to see and hear about your trip coming up. It sounds bloody brilliant. I might have to get a Pinterest account. :-)

Thanks Susan. Love you replies. One thing I differ on is that I loved The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was my highlight. We took photos of some of the same paintings, you and I. Degas, Van Gogh, etc. I love impressionist and post impressionist art. I would have loved to see the Harry Potter exhibit, as I loved all of the Harry Potter books and movies. I read the books twice and listened to the audio once.

What a fantastic trip! I can see you don't want to miss anything when you are travelling. I don't either. When we went, I had a list of things to see. My husband said he wouldn't mind doing 20 things in a day instead of 22. Lol! We spent a week in Manhattan.

Anyway, loved your post.
